Day in Mr. Hellmers' Class Monday, October 22, 2007 Today was the first "Reading Day" in our class, hopefully the first of several. Everything that we did today related to reading. For most of the day the students read books. We also had a guest reader—Mrs. Tilleman, our librarian. We also had snacks and made bookmarks to remember this special day. |

![]() For part of our day, students read to each other to share the books they were reading. |
![]() Some students are camera shy, and some just hide behind their books! |
![]() Look how comfortable reading can be! |
![]() Stuffed huskies enjoy reading day too. |
![]() For another part of our day, students read a page out loud from their books. We like to share as many books as we can, to help everyone find books they will really love. |
![]() Mrs. Tilleman read us a book called Owen & Mzee. It's about a baby hippopotamus who is adopted by a 130-year-old tortoise, after the hippo got orphaned by the 2004 tsunami. |
